I like the idea of this! It’s a simple proposition and I like the language they’re using. This view is less clear – not everyone knows what “cruft” is but still I’m pleased to see more genuinely useful features like this making their way into my new favourite OS ๐Ÿ™‚ Advertisements

Version 9.04 of Ubuntu isn’t even out yet and the big reveal on 9.10 has been made. The new version will be called Karmic Koala! ๐Ÿ™‚ More about the next release due in October here.

I’m quite liking the alerts in Jaunty. A friend described them as big and ugly but I like their appearance. One thing I am wondering about is the timer – seen here as a little green pacman. I’d love to know what the rationale is for telling people how long a message will display for.

I cannot believe that a 3am install is recommended. This is a laptop! At 3am it’s turned off?! It’s hard to believe just how pony Windows is sometimes!
